Developmental Editing
You’ve lived the work. Now craft the book that holds your wisdom.
Each developmental edit begins with a personalized plan for your project, your timeline, and your creative vision.
Get started with a complimentary Discovery Call.
You’ve spent decades at people’s side — as a therapist, a coach, a mediator, a guide, a witness.
You’ve seen the patterns. You know where people get stuck and how they find ease again.
You know what’s possible. And how to lead people through transformation.
And you have a book in you. A book that chose you. Because there are people out there right now who need exactly what you’ve learned and earned the hard way. And your heart feels heavy when you think of them trying to figure it out alone.
THE PROBLEM
Maybe the draft exists but it’s sprawling — full of brilliant moments, but missing a strong throughline that holds them all together.
Maybe you’ve written around what you really mean to say because it’s hard to put into words — especially since your expertise makes it so close to you, like dots of color in a Seurat painting that only make sense with distance.
Maybe you can see the whole vision, but when you try to put it on paper, the pieces won’t cooperate. Moving from your vision to your draft, something gets lost in translation.
Not because you lack ideas or expertise. Or even writing chops.
But because you are so close to your work. You need distance to see how it all fits together.
Imagine the most brilliant hairstylist. Someone in demand for red carpets and gala events. What does that person do when they need their own hair styled? Call in a pro. Because how is anyone — no matter how skilled — supposed to work on the back of their own head?
As your book doula, it’s my job to connect the dots. Find the inspirational arc. Show you how to line up all the puzzle pieces. So the big picture shines through in all its glory.
THE PROCESS
Think of the developmental edit of your book as a home renovation. Before we talk about the words, we talk about the walls. What stays, what gets reinforced, what needs to be rebuilt from the foundation up.
We make a plan — and then we hold it loosely. Because as the book comes to life, it will tell us things we could never see from the plan on paper.
It gets messier before it gets tidier. That’s not a sign something’s wrong. That’s the process working.
And yes — sometimes the most beautifully written section in your manuscript is the one we need to cut. Not because it isn’t good. Because it belongs to a different book.
THE PARTNERSHIP
This isn’t just reshaping your manuscript. It’s reshaping you as a writer.
Your book becomes structurally sound and true to its message. And you get clear on what you actually want to say. You find the courage to cut what doesn’t serve you. You learn to hear what the book is asking for. And you learn to honor your creative process with even greater reverence, holding it with patience and profound humility.
For many of my clients, writing their book is also the first time they’ve stood fully behind their own voice. Not waiting for permission or an invitation. But speaking up with a calm courage, knowing their message will be heard by those ready to listen.
A comprehensive, collaborative process to make your book shine.

Space for Intuitive Insights
Remaining open and attuned to the inspired ideas that are only ready to emerge as the editing process unfolds and your book reveals what it truly wants to be.
Flexible. Co-creative. Bespoke.
Our work together is tailored to your unique project. From the timeline, to the level of support, to the frequency and style of communication. This process should feel like a delicious creative collaboration — not an administrative task or school assignment.
That’s why the first vital step is a Discovery Call where you’ll tell me more about your book and your goals for writing and publishing. This also gives us a chance to experience one another’s energies and feel whether we are aligned.
“Every change you’ve suggested is a place where my intuition knew something was off. I just didn’t know what to write instead.”
